Over the last year, as I have worked on getting my business going, I often heard other vendors talk about doing styled shoots. And, to be honest with you, I had absolutely NO idea what a styled shoot was. When I learned that a styled shoot was a way to build a portfolio, a light bulb went on and my mind began to race. I decided that for 2019, I wanted to make it a goal to do one styled shoot for each season of the year. When I began thinking about what I wanted to do for a winter shoot, I knew I did NOT want a typical "ice and snow" theme because I felt that that look had been done, a lot.
Well, after a lot of thought, inspiration struck. In the books and movies, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, the White Witch has cast a spell on Narnia that made Narnia "always winter, but never Christmas." I had my winter-themed photo shoot! After all the work, the stress over getting the details just right, and putting everything together, the styled shoot took place at the Cox Mansion in Kettering, Ohio. After the shoot, and after I had gotten the incredible pictures back from the amazing photographers who participated, I applied and submitted the pictures for publication in a magazine. A couple of weeks later, I learned that the shoot had been accepted for publication by Pretty Pear Bride Magazine! The publication went live on April 2, 2019.
